The Jay County Hospital Rehabilitation Department is a comprehensive provider of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy. Services are provided in the acute and skilled hospital setting, as well as outpatient services at the Jay Medical Facilities Building. Rehabilitation services provided in the hospital setting are short term and rehabilitative in nature with the goal of returning the patient to his/her home.
A Physical Therapist is a licensed healthcare professional who evaluates and provides treatment for the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. A certified, licensed, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and provides therapy services for speech and language disorders that affect one’s ability to talk, understand, read and write, in children through adulthood.
An Occupational Therapist is a licensed healthcare professional that assists patients in regaining, developing and improving the skills that are necessary for independent activities of daily living. Treatments are provided for the following medical conditions: Joint replacements hip, knee and shoulder. Other orthopedic procedures are knee and shoulder scopes, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel and hand tendon repairs. Other general medical conditions that therapy provides treatments are muscle strain, pain management, stroke, balance and walking difficulty, weakness, vestibular/dizziness, difficulty swallowing and speech and memory difficulty. Treatments can include exercise, soft tissue massage, massage, ASTYM, range of motion, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, intophoresis, braces and spllints, balance and walking training, specialized swallow studies, patient education in home exercise program along with posture and body mechanics We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Indiana Plan, work compensation and most commerical insurances.
