Jay County Hospital Foundation

The mission of the Jay County Hospital Foundation is to provide funding for capital improvements and opportunities that will enhance Jay County Hospital’s ability to deliver quality care to the residents of its service area and to support initiatives and programs produced by the Hospital that will foster knowledge and awareness of healthcare issues for the people of its service area. .

2015 Annual Campaign

This year, the funds raised from the 2015 JCH Foundation Campaign will assist the Obstetrics (OB) Department in several initiatives designed to enhance the OB service line here at JCH. From education for new and expecting mothers regarding prenatal and well-baby care to the latest equipment and training for our providers, these funds will be used to ensure that JCH continues to offer unparalleled care in one of our most important departments.

Jay County Hospital Obstetrics provides each mother with the support and care needed to make the birthing experience one filled with a lifetime of fond memories. “OB care in Jay County is very personalized. Standards for OB care are established nationwide, so  women receive the same required care in New York, Chicago, or L.A as in Portland. But the care and personal attention provided in Jay County is priceless,” states Dr. Mark Haggenjos, Chief of Medical Staff and Medical Director of JCH OB Department.

In addition to quality, compassionate, and personalized care, Jay County Hospital is committed to the wellness of our communities and building a healthier Jay County.  One initiative we are committed to is improving infant mortality rates (defined as death of a baby before the age of one) in our area.  Although infant mortality rates in the United States continue to decrease, it is still a major issue in Indiana and Jay County. Indiana is ranked 45th out of 51 states (includes DC) for worst infant mortality rates and Jay County is ranked 77th out of 92 counties in Indiana. Jay County Hospital would like to help educate expectant mothers and new mothers on the importance of a healthy lifestyle before, during, and after the birth of a child.

Your donation could help provide education for mothers to reduce the infant mortality rate, fund the latest obstetrics equipment to continue providing world class Obstetrics services to Jay County and the surrounding communities.

For more information or to make a donation, please contact Vicki Delzeith, Foundation Director at 260-726-1811.
